Dillard High School has a new principal, Mrs. Casandra D.  Robinson. Mrs. Robinson has over 17 years of educational experience.  During the past seven and a half years, she served as Principal of William Dandy Middle School where she led that school in earning an “A” grade for seven consecutive years.  Mrs. Robinson’s philosophy is: “Together We Make Great Things Happen through Proper Planning, Professionalism, and with Panther Pride!”

An official “Meet and Greet” is scheduled for Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.  in the Dillard Center for the Arts Black Blackbox Theater.  All faculty, staff, students, community members, alumni, and business leaders are invited and encouraged to attend.

Dillard High does it again!  Foreign Language students did incredibly well at this year’s competition.

In December 2011, The First Priority Club and Student Government Association teamed up to sponsor a blanket drive here at Dillard High School.  The class of 2012 and the student-led Christian club collected blankets over a two-week span from the entire Dillard High family.  The blankets were collected and distributed to homeless individuals in the downtown Fort Lauderdale area.  The students, with the assistance of their sponsors (Mrs. Demetria Rawls and Mrs. Sherrie Poitier), decided to donate these essential items during the winter months when they are most needed.  Thanks to these two clubs, a little warmth was spread during these tough times.

Freshman Parent Night is scheduled for Monday, December 12 at 6:30 PM in the Dillard High Cafeteria.  All parents of 9th grade students are encouraged to attend.  Presentations on how to use Virtual Counselor, information on testing and how to better understand your child’s report card are just a few of the topics that will be discussed.  Also, fabulous door prizes such as a Kindle, laptop computer and a variety of gift baskets will be given away.  So, don’t delay, make plans today to attend.

Civic Day activities will begin at 10:00 AM, Thursday October 20 at DHS.  Civic Day is just one of several activities scheduled for DHS Alumni and friends to participate in during the 2011 Homecoming Celebration. Participants are asked to arrive by 10 AM. After check-in, a campus tour is scheduled in addition to a leadership presentation and a post reception. Welcome back Alumni!  We look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
