SCHOOL PROFILE 2011-2012

SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY
Dillard High School is located in Broward County Florida, in the city of Fort Lauderdale.

One of thirty three high schools in the Broward County Public School District, Dillard’s campus also hosts the district’s only Performing Arts and Computer Technology Magnet Programs. The expansive, open campus mimics a small college. The area is urban, residential, and includes varied socioeconomic levels.

ACADEMIC OVERVIEW AND SCHEDULE
Dillard High School is on a traditional semester schedule. There are four 100 minute block periods each day, which meet daily for 36 weeks.

GRADES AND TRANSCRIPTS
Letter grades are assigned: A, B, C, D, are passing, F- Fail, I–Incomplete The transcript lists the GPA both weighted (5.0 scale) and unweighted (4.0 scale). Honors courses taken in the 9th - 12th grades are weighted. Advanced Placement courses are weighted in 9th –12th grades. The total GPA 9-12 includes all courses, academic and non-academic.

Activities
DHS hosts more than 30 activities and clubs including a variety of performing and visual arts programs, computer technology programs. In addition, there are a wide range of groups focusing on scholastics, community service, politics, religion, sports, social issues, contemporary topics, and more. Students are encouraged to develop and organize clubs to support individual and group interests.

Athletics
Dillard High School has a long tradition of athletic excellence that includes numerous District and State championships. The Panthers are proud of the many athletes selected for All-District and All-State teams. Team sports at Dillard include: Baseball (B), Basketball (B, G), Cross Country (B, G), Football (B), Soccer (B, G), Softball (G), Swimming (B, G), Tennis (B, G), Track & Field (B, G), Volleyball (G), and Wrestling (B).
